⭐️ 4/5
🌶️ 2.5/5
The Finisher is basically the cute stuff mixed into the dark stuff. It is an emotional rollercoaster and the trauma that the characters have endured during their lives makes it impossible not to feel for them.
This might not have been my favourite book in the Dark Verse series, but I still loved it and would recommend it to anyone who loves dark romance.
The Finisher Book Summary
Alessandro ‘Alpha’ Villanova is now the ruler of Los Fortis, but he didn’t start out that way. He was a boy living on the streets, barely getting by, but he fought his way to the top. Now he rules over a secret dark empire and the ones who pushed him away.
On the other hand we have Zephyr de la Vega. Her life is as normal as it gets. The biggest problems that she has is people telling her to lose a few pounds and the inheritance her grandmother left her that she’ll lose if she doesn’t get married before her twenty-ninth birthday in a month.
But then she crosses paths with Alpha by accident and suddenly her life looks much different to what it did before.
When a killer starts to play his games and the Syndicate starts to mess around in Alpha’s city things start to get interesting.
Other Thoughts on The Finisher
Like the previous books, I liked The Finisher. However, it is not my favourite book in the Dark Verse series.
I didn’t like that Zephyr only had a month before her birthday. It made it feel a little far fetched when it came to her and Alpha’s relationship.
The other thing that I didn’t like, although this is more a thing of personal preference was the fixation on Zephyr’s weight. At some point I felt that the constant mention thereof no longer contributed to the story.

Series or Standalone?
Although this book is about a different couple, as is the case with the earlier books, it is not a standalone. The fight against the Syndicate is an overarching plot and will only be concluded in The Syndicater.
