The Devil’s Lair by Penny Dee Review

⭐️ 4/5
🌶️ 3.5/5

The devil’s lair is totally worth your time. The story is well written and not utterly, predictably boring. There are some plot twists that make the story very exciting.

Plot Summary

Before the De Kysa and Bamcorda became enemies, Massimo stole Bianca’s first kiss and gifted her with one of the most memorable nights in her life. But then things changed and suddenly the two families were no longer on friendly terms, but rather rivals and he became a powerful don.

When Bianca’s father was murdered her world was thrown upside down. And as if that wasn’t enough, someone stole everything she had. Left completely broke and abandoned by everyone she once trusted, the only person she had to turn to was the person who was now her enemy.

When he agreed to help her she had no idea what she was letting herself in for.

Some Thoughts on the Characters

I think one of my favourite parts of this book is the character development of Bianca. At the start of the book she is a seriously spoiled mafia princess, but after having to deal with real life after her whole world came to a fall gave her a serious reality check. It was really beautiful to see how she grew as a person throughout the book.

Series or Standalone?

This book is the second in the Da Kysa mafia series by Penny Dee. I guess you could read it as a standalone, but I wouldn’t recommend it. There are some spoilers for the previous book in this one.

And to be honest, I see no reason to skip the first one. It is an amazing book and is also totally worth your time. You can read my review for “The Devil’s Den” here.
