I love a book in which a super violent and ruthless man becomes an utter cinnamon roll for his woman. That is Paved in Rage by Sonja Grey in a nutshell.
Lev is filled with rage and copes by participating in underground fights, but when it comes to Jolene is the definition of a sweet and caring person.
Plot Summary
Jolene needs to learn how to fight.
As an underground fighter and a Bratva boss Lev Melnikov is the perfect person to help her.
But being close to him makes her want more. And being close to her wants him want things he shouldn’t. But he can’t get it over his heart to bring her into his dangerous world. That is until a drastic change in life forces him to take her and keep her.
My Thoughts
Like all the books in this series I absolutely loved this book.
Something that I really loved is the extra insight we start to get on Matvey. With each book we learn more about him even though it is not his book.
The reason why I like that is that the entire story builds up to their finding Alina and because of the nature of their relationship this extra insight is really amazing.

Series or Standalone?
Paved in rage is not a standalone at all. It is the third book in Sonja Grey’s Melnikov Bratva series.
Although each book features a different couple with their own problems, the entire series is about bringing down the human trafficking ring that took Alina. In each book we get closer to the truth.
Tropes
Paved in Rage is about a story between a woman and her brother’s enemy. There is a bit of an age gap between them, but not that huge, to be honest.
Like all the other books in this series, it is also found family.
